Are you still running this without a heater? Just curious how's that working out?

I live in Texas and running a heater at this time of year isn't a necessity. However, we keep our house really cool at night and it is causing the tank to drop to around 72 F at night. During the day it stays pretty stable at 76 F. So I will be adding a heater soon, so I don't have to keep the house so warm at night.

What's the name of the carpeting plant you have here?

That's Marsilea Minuta, a dwarf clover plant that grows quite slowly without CO2 (or excel).

Thanks, I'm looking for a nice carpeting plant that doesn't require too much CO2. I take it you aren't running CO2 then?

Is this your personal aquarium or for a university or something?

first: the aquarium is really immature, it's very ugly and i'm very sorry for that.
please, give me more time :-) actually i'm on field for some research and i cannot follow the aquarium stuff.
the problem is that i have few spare time and so the arduino project and the light building project are running very slow.
in any case this is my aquarium, it is in the aquaristik association Goccia Blu Campania, In Naples, Italy. it's is on the ground floor so i have no problem with the weight. Best Regards. Mirko

More blues in the light would probably make it look a bit better but that's just my personal preference. It looks great and I love the photos.
