Day 87... The sailfin tang still has the clowns convinced he too is a clown. He sleeps with them, lays below the anemone to hide... and they act like they love him.

Obviously a clownfish.

Wonder what's gonna happen when the clowns start breeding.

Whoa that's a bit of an interesting thought.. may need to remove him, I hear they can get really aggressive when they spawn... they have yet to do so, but they are doing normal fish nesting rituals.. have been for about a month.

Mine always have eggs around now and so are always a little aggressive. Not super aggressive but enough to start occasional fights with our larger anthias.

I wonder why mine have not yet spawned.. It worries me a bit. I know they have to be at least 3 years old.. unless they are spawning and eating the eggs before I see them? I constantly see them "nesting"... you know, flailing around flat rocks near the anemone.. dancing, etc.

You will see the eggs on the rocks. The ones we have are probably a little over a year old now and they were paired and mating within the first year. The spawn after a week will most likely get eaten though and it starts all over again.

Well I am pretty sure I have puritan clownfish... From the day my anemone split they sleep in different beds. -.-
